On the left bank of the Kherson region the occupiers are reportedly preparing to close at least six schools in the Kalanchak community.
This was reported by pseudo-opposition pro-Russian media.
According to the media, the relevant decision is planned to be formalized by mid‑June 2026.
The occupiers may also close a kindergarten in the village of Preobrazhenka. The children are allegedly to be transferred to a school facility that does not have suitable conditions for young children.
In September 2025 the occupation Ministry of Education and Science of the Kherson region for the first time announced the closure of four schools in the temporarily occupied territory. They cited the small number of students as the reason.
