Agricultural producers in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region complain about a shortage of fuel at the start of the harvest, although earlier the occupation governor Volodymyr Saldo had stated that farmers were fully supplied with fuel.
As one of the local farmers told a pro-Russian media outlet, in the Novotroitska community the existing reserves of diesel fuel will be enough only to harvest on roughly 200 hectares. After that, to continue work they will have to sell the already harvested barley to buy new batches of fuel.
In addition to the fuel shortage, farmers also complain about difficulties selling grain. According to them, traders are reluctant to send trucks to the occupied territory because of security risks, which complicates the removal of the harvest and the freeing up of storage facilities for new crops.
It should be noted that earlier the occupation governor of Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo claimed that despite logistics problems farmers receive the necessary volumes of fuel. However, it is obvious that the situation is much more complicated than the pseudo-officials assure.
Recall, during June the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a number of strikes on the equipment of the occupying forces in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region. In particular, the land corridor to Crimea came under strikes.
After that, the occupation authorities stated that the situation on the fuel market in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region remains tense, but allegedly controlled. At the same time, a system of issuing fuel by coupons was introduced.
