The occupying authorities on the left bank of Kherson region announced the transfer of powers for guardianship and care to the bodies of the so-called local self-government.
This is reported by Russia-controlled media with reference to the words of the occupation-appointed commissioner for children’s rights in Kherson region, Iryna Kravchenko.
According to her, the corresponding powers are planned to be transferred to the level of the so-called municipalities, which supposedly should make the work of guardianship bodies “more timely and clear”.
As occupation media claim, these changes are provided for by the “law” adopted in September 2025, which came into force on January 1, 2026. The transfer of powers is part of the so-called roadmap for developing a system for the prevention of social orphanhood.
