On the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region, owners of private guest houses are being forced to undergo the so-called “classification” under Russian legislation, threatened with large fines.
This is reported by pro-Russian media.
The occupiers claim that the left-bank part of Kherson is reportedly taking part in a Russian “experiment” to regulate guest house services. Because of this, owners of homesteads and guest rooms are being forced to register on the Russian “Rosaccreditation” portal.
In case of refusal, entrepreneurs are threatened with administrative liability. For so-called “officials” fines of up to 70,000 rubles are promised, and for legal entities — up to 450,000 rubles.
It should be recalled that due to regular fighting, lack of security, communication problems and the blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant by the Russians, the resort season on the occupied Kherson coast has for the third year in a row been completely disrupted, and most recreation bases have been seized by Russian forces or looted.
At the beginning of June it became known that on the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson region this summer no official beach will be open.
In the summer of 2025 the occupation governor of Kherson, Volodymyr Saldo, announced an increase in tourist flow on the left bank of the Kherson region – however, most of the “tourists” – are families of Russian military personnel.
Earlier, Saldo admitted that there is no demand for tourist services on the left bank of the Kherson region.
And in the summer of 2024 he said that the tourist season in Kherson before Russia’s full-scale invasion was much better.
At the same time, Kherson itself, due to Russian aggression, risks turning into a zone of ecological disaster. Damage to the region’s environment so far has reached over UAH 159 billion.
