The Velykooleksandrivskyi District Court of Kherson Oblast issued a verdict against Nina Kalina for participating in the organization and conduct of an illegal referendum in Kherson Oblast.
This is stated in the court’s corresponding verdict.
The investigation established that the woman voluntarily worked in the illegal precinct election commission No. 820 in the village of Borozenske in Beryslavskyi district. During the so‑called referendum she took part in door‑to‑door visits, distributed ballots, kept a record of those who voted, and assisted in conducting the vote on the secession of Kherson Oblast from Ukraine and its accession to Russia.
According to the court, after the de‑occupation of the right‑bank part of Kherson Oblast the woman left for the temporarily occupied territory (TOT), so a verdict was issued in absentia.
The court sentenced Nina Kalina to eight years of imprisonment. She was also deprived for 15 years of the right to hold positions related to organizing elections and referendums, and all her property was confiscated.
Earlier, for participation in the same pseudo‑referendum the court issued a verdict against Nina Kalina’s sister – Olena Kalina. She was also found guilty of collaborationist activity and sentenced to eight years in prison.
