On January 5 in the Kherson region Russian occupiers killed by a drone a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP).
This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Kherson Eparchy of the UOC-MP.
This happened during an attack on a humanitarian center, which MOST wrote about in the morning.
“As a result of a strike by a Russian drone on his parish, the rector of the Pokrov Church of the village of Orlove, archpriest Heorhiy Horbenko, was killed”, – the message says.
The UOC-MP noted that Horbenko was 65 years old, he was born in Kherson and had served throughout his life in churches across the Kherson region.
“On February 18, 2020 he was appointed rector of the Pokrov Church of the village of Orlove and on Holy Pascha was elevated to the rank of archpriest by Metropolitan Ioann of Kherson and Tavriia”, – the post says.
