In the Kherson region, they plan to create an olive tree plantation in cooperation with Greek partners.
This was reported by the Kherson OVA following a meeting between the head of the OVA, Oleksandr Prokudin, and the founder and CEO of MetaCluster TIASI, Sotiris A. Buzeas.
The Greek side has already handed over the first olive tree saplings. They will be planted in pre-designated greenhouses to test the region’s climatic conditions. Olive cultivation requires a specific temperature regime, irrigation systems and special fertilizers.
In spring the saplings are planned to be transplanted into open ground, and by winter the first results of the experiment are expected.
Recall that in the right-bank part of the Kherson region the sowing areas of oil flax were significantly increased in 2025. This was driven by the plant’s resistance to high temperatures, drought and fires, as well as the profitability of cultivation.
