In the Velykooleksandrivska community a woman brought her two-year-old son to the child services office and stated that she no longer wants to raise him. After that she left the child at the facility and walked away.
The community’s page reports this.
According to staff, she left the child saying that her son was “not needed”.
Specialists from the child services and the Center for the Provision of Social Services immediately provided the boy with appropriate care, nutrition, and psychological support. The guardianship and care authority and law enforcement were informed of the incident to provide a legal assessment of the mother’s actions.
Subsequently, the child was placed in a family-type children’s home, where he was provided with safe conditions for living, upbringing, and development in a family environment.
Currently, the necessary documents to grant the boy the appropriate status are being processed, and the question of possible legal responsibility of the mother is being addressed.
