In the village of Novokamyanka of the Tavriisk community in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region, they buried former ATO veteran Stepan Haviia, who voluntarily signed a contract with the Russian Armed Forces and fought against Ukraine. He handed pro-Ukrainian residents of the village over to the occupiers and called himself “commandant”.
This was reported by the Center for Journalistic Investigations, citing its own sources.
According to the Center for Journalistic Investigations, Haviia was killed by Ukrainian forces about three months ago. Despite his death, his wife claims that he is alive and that she is waiting for his return from the front.
Residents of Novokamyanka note that after Haviia’s death the village became significantly calmer, because he regularly informed the Russian occupiers about those who did not cooperate with them or did not receive humanitarian aid.
As the Center for Journalistic Investigations writes, together with Haviia his 22-year-old adopted son Artur Troshchynskyi signed a contract with the Russian Armed Forces. Artur boasted about his service on social networks and recently detonated an anti-personnel mine in the Oleshky area, as a result of which he lost part of his leg. He is currently undergoing treatment but continues to support the Russian Federation.
