At medical facilities in the Kherson region, work is underway to equip 12 additional shelter facilities to provide care to patients in safe conditions.
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration said this on the telethon broadcast.
Currently, 14 “underground” medical institutions are already operating in the region. In particular, 136 children were born last year at the underground perinatal center, which is 60% of the total number of births in the Kherson region.
In addition to expanding the network of medical shelters, the construction of protective structures in educational institutions in the region continues. Priority areas remain the restoration of life-support systems after Russian shelling and countering the threats of remote mine-laying.
Recall, by the end of February 2026, in the Kherson region 37 medical facilities were operating.
