A native of Komyshany, Serhii Karpinsky, was killed in fighting in Donetsk region. He was a graduate of Komyshany General Education School I–III levels No. 26.

Serhii Karpinsky was born on May 12, 1969, in the settlement of Komyshany. In April 2026 he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he served as a grenade launcher operator.
On July 2, 2026, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Osykove in Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region, the serviceman was killed.
