Four large breaches formed on the Chonhar bridge after the strikes, significantly damaging the infrastructure and complicating vehicle traffic.
This was said in an interview with the FREEДOM TV channel by a member of the Presidium of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Eskender Bariev.
According to him, after the damage the occupying authorities tried to organize reversible traffic, however it significantly limited the bridge’s throughput capacity.
“There were four large breaches. They implemented reversible traffic, but it greatly complicated passage. And after the second strike the damage became more serious, and they had to switch to pontoon crossings to somehow preserve the movement of equipment, but this no longer provides full logistics”, — noted Bariev.
Recall, on the night of June 7 Ukrainian units struck the bridge in the Chonhar area on the temporarily occupied territory. After that the occupiers temporarily blocked vehicle traffic through the “Dzhankoy” automobile checkpoint.
According to Ukrainian military, Fire Point systems and Begemot unmanned aerial vehicles were used during the operation.
The military note that the Chonhar bridge is one of the key supply routes for Russian troops, ammunition, and fuel from temporarily occupied Crimea.
