Ukrainian marines have pushed Russian forces out of some of the islands between Kherson and the temporarily occupied Oleshky.
This was reported in an interview with the Radio Liberty project “Crimea.Realities” by the commander of the 34th Separate Marine Brigade, Dmytro Pulinets.
These are the islands between Kherson and Oleshky, in particular Oleksiivskyi, Kruhlyk, Korabeliv and Potemkinsky. Now, according to the commander, the presence of Russian troops in these territories has become extremely difficult for them.
In addition, Pulinets noted that Ukrainian forces have begun to affect the enemy’s logistics in Oleshky. He said that previously the occupiers could drive vehicles to the city without hindrance, bringing in equipment and personnel. Now that capability has been lost.
“Now a typical day for a Russian soldier is that he walks on foot from Kostohryzove and does not always even make it to Oleshky itself.”
According to the brigade commander, Russian troops now have to cover 20–30 kilometers on foot to reach their positions.
Pulinets also commented on the issue of defending Kherson from constant drone and artillery attacks. According to him, there is no universal solution that could completely shield the city from Russian strikes.
At the same time, according to the military officer, the current defense system allows intercepting 90–95% of the drones launched at Kherson.
It was previously also reported that Russian forces changed logistical routes due to complications in supplying the Kherson region.
