In Ukraine, preparations are currently underway to strengthen hospitals’ energy independence ahead of the 2026–2027 autumn‑winter period. Medical facilities in Kherson region are fully equipped with backup power sources.
This was reported on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
It is noted that among 632 specialized care institutions that are part of the capable network, as well as multidisciplinary hospitals of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, 100% are provided with backup power sources (over 3500 generators).
In addition, 89% of facilities have autonomous heating, 63% are provided with local water supply sources (865 wells), and 53% are completely autonomous, meaning they have backup power, autonomous heating and their own water sources and can operate without external resources even in the event of prolonged power outages.
Earlier it was reported that in Kherson region are currently operating 37 healthcare institutions, which have 158 structural subdivisions. They are provided with the necessary equipment, medicines and autonomous power sources.
