In the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, tensions and suspicions about the actions of certain deputies prevailed in the Kherson City Council.
About this in an interview with MOST told the former deputy mayor of Kherson and current serviceman Roman Holovnya.
According to him, after the start of the invasion a group of deputies gathered in the city council, among whom were Єгор Устинов, Юрій Стельмашенко, Альона Ротова, Тігран Мкртчян та Олена Мазур.
“A group of “regionals” immediately gathered in the city council led by Ustinov. He came with a pistol. Ustinov, Stelmashenko, Rotova, this deputy Tigran, well, he kept himself somewhat to the side, Mazur was also hanging around there. And I had the feeling that they were waiting. That they were waiting for the “Russians”. I will tell it as it is. These are my feelings”, – recalls Roman Holovnya.
He also suggested that some deputies might have been preparing for an attempt at a coup and seizure of power after a possible entry of Russian troops into the city.
“Most likely, such a scenario existed. Everyone is already talking about it now: the “ruskies” will enter, they will stage a coup and the “ОПЗЖ” will take the seats”, – Holovnya said.
