A former judge from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, who during the Russian occupation of Kherson agreed to head the Russians’ pseudo-judicial institution, was sentenced to 15 years in prison. The sentence was handed down in absentia.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation established that during the temporary occupation of the city, the man became the head of the so-called “Kherson Regional Court”. While in this “position”, he issued decisions in accordance with Russian legislation
The court found him guilty under part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In addition to 15 years of imprisonment, the convict was given the maximum ban on holding any positions in state, law enforcement, and judicial bodies for 15 years. A decision was also made to confiscate all his property.
Recall, recently the Kherson City Court handed down an in absentia sentence to Kherson region resident Nataliya Lysenko, who voluntarily headed the occupation administration in the settlement of Rykove in Henichesk district.
