The court handed down a sentence in absentia to a Kherson propagandist who collaborated with the illegal authorities during the occupation of the city.
This was reported on the website of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, the man acted as a host and sang Russian songs at events of the occupation authorities, gave a video interview at the so-called referendum, and ran his own propaganda website.
He was found guilty of collaborationist activity, as well as of producing and disseminating materials that contain justification, recognition as lawful, and denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (Part 6 of Art. 111-1, Part 2 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and was sentenced to 11 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.
According to MOST, this concerns a former employee of the Kherson Kulish Drama Theater – Danylo Sanitar. At the theater he served as a vocalist.
During the first months of the occupation of Kherson he was part of the Municipal Guard. He engaged in volunteer activities, organized fundraising to help the Kherson hospital, and already in August Sanitar sang Russian songs and hosted a concert for the Russian Federation’s State Flag Day in occupied Bilozerka.
