The head of a religious community from the Kherson region, Pavlo Pleshivtsev, who caused a fatal traffic accident in Kyiv, has been notified of suspicion.
This was reported on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation, on June 5 the man was driving a Mercedes-Benz. On a curved section of the road he exceeded the speed limit, lost control of the vehicle and drove into an underground passage where there were people.
As a result of the accident, four pedestrians were killed — two police officers, a woman and a 12-year-old boy. Three other people were injured.
The driver himself sustained bodily injuries that do not pose a threat to his life. He has been detained and is under guard in a hospital ward. At this time it has been established that at the time of the accident the man was sober, according to the post.
Pleshivtsev has been notified of suspicion of violating traffic safety rules under part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation is also checking his previous traffic violations. It is known that since 2025 he has been fined multiple times for speeding and other violations.
Note that according to MOST, Pavlo Pleshivtsev – the head of the religious community of Evangelical Christian Baptists “Church of the village Pidstepne”.
“Church of the village Pidstepne” is registered in the village of Pidstepne of the Oleshky community on the left bank of the Kherson region. It is likely that Pleshivtsev himself comes from there.
According to the analytical system YouControl, from 2005 to 2015 Pavlo Pleshivtsev was engaged in retail trade at markets. However, he later ceased the activity.
