Kherson City Court handed down a verdict to local resident Tetyana Petrova, who during the occupation of the city went to serve in the so-called “Main Directorate of the MVD of Kherson Oblast”.
This was revealed by the corresponding court verdict.
According to the case materials, 25-year-old native of the village of Chulakivka Tetyana Petrova, at the end of June 2022 knowingly wrote an application addressed to the occupation head of the “MVD”. From July 1 she was appointed “temporarily acting assistant investigator” at the Suvorovskyi City Police Department.
Already after one and a half months – in August 2022 – the occupiers promoted her to the illegal position of acting investigator.
One of the witnesses during the hearing said that in the summer of 2022 Petrova responded to calls in a car with the Ukrainian trident covered and a Russian flag. She offered passersby to cooperate with the occupiers and questioned them about Ukrainian partisans and law enforcement officers hiding in the city.
In addition, in August 2022 she submitted documents to the correspondence department of the law faculty of Kherson State University, which at that time was controlled by the occupiers. To her application Petrova attached an official certificate from her place of work, which became one of the pieces of evidence of her guilt in court.
The court found Tetyana Petrova guilty under part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (voluntary holding of a position in an illegal law enforcement body). In addition to 15 years imprisonment and confiscation of all property, she was deprived for 15 years of the right to hold any positions in government bodies or law enforcement agencies.
Earlier it was reported that the Security Service and the State Bureau of Investigation detained a former employee of the paramilitary security unit of the regional branch of Ukrzaliznytsia, who collaborated with the Russians after the capture of Kherson.
