“United Russia” is preparing to hold internal party primaries in the occupied part of the Kherson region. The so-called “preliminary voting” is scheduled for the end of May 2026.
Pro-Russian media reported this citing the secretary of the party’s general council Volodymyr Yakushev and the occupation-appointed governor of the Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo.
The preliminary voting is planned to be held from May 25 to 31, 2026.
Earlier we wrote that the Russian Federation is preparing to hold elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. Voting is scheduled for September 20, 2026.
Ukraine and the international community have repeatedly emphasized that any Russian “elections” in temporarily occupied territories are illegal, and their results have no legal force. Organizing and participating in such events constitute aiding the occupiers and entail criminal liability.
