In the Beryslav district of the Kherson region, since the start of the full-scale invasion the population has decreased by more than half.
This was said in an interview with MOST by the head of the Beryslav RMA, Volodymyr Litvinov.
Currently about 35,000 people live in the district, while before February 2022 almost 97,000 lived there.
According to Litvinov, most people are leaving frontline communities where the security situation is constantly deteriorating. In particular, this concerns the Beryslav community, the villages of Rakivka, Taras Shevchenko, Urozhayne, as well as the populated localities of the Novorayska and Mylivska communities.
“People are actively leaving because the situation is getting worse every day”, he said.
He added that during June alone, by the joint efforts of military administrations, volunteers, police and the military, 355 people were evacuated from frontline territories. Among them — 77 children.
