A 61-year-old resident of Kherson region has been notified of suspicion of justifying the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, while in Kherson, which was occupied at the time, the man was among those seeking to obtain a Russian passport.
In August 2022 he took part in a political event during which he received the document and gave an interview to representatives of pro-Russian media. In his speech the man praised Russia and openly expressed his desire “to be a citizen of the Russian Federation”.
A video recording of his confession of allegiance to the aggressor state was later posted on the publication’s pages on social networks and became available to a wide audience.
