Law enforcement officers have notified a resident of the Kherson region of suspicion, who, during the temporary occupation of the city, voluntarily agreed to head an educational institution illegally established by the occupying authorities and implemented the educational standards of the aggressor state there.

The investigation established that in July 2022 a 47-year-old Kherson woman, while in the temporarily occupied city, voluntarily accepted an offer from representatives of the occupying authorities and took the position of head of the educational institution illegally created by the occupying authorities «Maritime Vocational College» of the State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Education of Kherson Region «Kherson State Maritime Academy».
The pseudo-institution operated on the basis of the seized property complex of the Kherson State Maritime Academy and was integrated into the educational system of the Russian Federation.
The suspect ensured the complete transition of the educational institution to the educational programs and standards of the aggressor state, organized the conduct of the educational process in the Russian language, and also implemented the teaching of subjects provided for by the Russian Federation’s educational standards, in particular «Russian language», «Russian literature» and «history».
In addition, the suspect organized the recruitment of staff for the illegal institution, approved candidates for teaching positions, ensured the holding of classes in educational premises, controlled the provision of cadets with educational materials and technical equipment, and also organized the issuance of education documents according to the templates of the aggressor state.
She also exercised overall leadership of the educational process, approved class schedules and controlled the teaching of disciplines in the training directions «navigation», «ship mechanics» and «electromechanics» in accordance with programs approved by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
At present, investigators have notified the woman in absentia of suspicion of committing a crime provided for in Part 3 of Article 111-1 «Collaborationist activity» of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. She may face up to three years of imprisonment and other restrictions.
