In the first two days of 2026, Russians shelled the Kherson CHP more than ten times. Due to systematic strikes, the plant can no longer operate in its usual mode.
This was reported by the chairman of the board of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” Serhii Koretskyi
Koretskyi reported that the CHP was again attacked with artillery and drones. According to him, on the morning of January 2 the plant suffered another attack – four hits were recorded.
Specialists, according to the chairman of the board of “Naftogaz”, are working on site as much as the security situation allows: they assess the damage and plan further actions.
Koretskyi also said that “Naftogaz” is coordinating actions with local authorities to provide the city with heat as soon as possible, and is considering various options.
According to him, 1 000 electric heaters have already been delivered to residents. In addition, the company plans to provide another 500 heaters with gas cylinders and an additional batch of 1 000 such heaters after delivery.
Recall, after systematic shelling of the Kherson CHP without heat in Kherson were left from 10 to 12 thousand people.
