NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” plans to appeal to the Recovery Agency with a request to include the Kherson CHP in the list of facilities financed by their funds.
This became known after a working meeting on the territory of the Kherson CHP, which was attended by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin, Naftogaz’s director of security, Vitaliy Brovko, the head of the security service, Yuriy Chernego, and a representative of special communications.
It is noted that measures to strengthen the protection of the region’s critical infrastructure were also discussed, in particular regulating units that are supposed to ensure the operation of Kherson’s boiler houses.
Following the meeting, Naftogaz of Ukraine and UNDP confirmed their readiness to provide the necessary support so that residents of Kherson have heat supply during the winter period.
As a reminder, as a result of systematic Russian shelling, the Kherson CHP ceased operations on the morning of December 4.
Currently, 50% of the city is without heat supply. It is impossible to predict the timelines for restoration due to the danger to repair crews.
However, according to the Regional Military Administration, to the Kherson region are already heading the first thousand electric and gas heaters – they will be handed over to people who have been left without heating due to the shutdown of the Kherson CHP.
