A pupil of the Kherson CYSS for chess and checkers, Artur Bibik, took second place at an international children’s rapid chess tournament in France.

The 1er Tournoi Rapide Jeunes de Pibrac competition took place on January 31, 2026 in the town of Pibrac and gathered 106 young chess players under the age of 16.
Artur Bibik competed in the under-12 category. After seven rounds he scored 4.5 points out of 7 possible, which allowed him to win the silver medal.

He is coached by Yevhen Novikov.
