Former actor of the Kherson Mykola Kulish Theatre Yevhen Hamayunov, who works for the occupation authorities, received the title “Honored Artist of the Russian Federation”.
This was reported by pro-Kremlin media.
The pseudo-minister of culture of the temporarily occupied Kherson region, Artem Lagoyskyi, called Hamayunov’s award “an assessment of personal achievements and support for cultural figures”.
Recall, during the occupation of Kherson the Russians created their own theatre on the basis of the Kherson Regional Music and Drama Theatre named after Mykola Kulish. This was in spring 2022.
In total, only 16 of the theatre’s 250 employees and actors agreed to cooperate with the Russians.
Among them were only two professional actors: People’s Artist of Ukraine Ruzhena Rublyova and Honored Artist of Ukraine Yevhen Hamayunov.
