Kherson MVA approved the Road Management Development Program for 2026-2028.
The corresponding order was signed by the head of the Kherson MVA, Yaroslav Shanko.
Its implementation is required is required nearly UAH 95 million, of which slightly more than UAH 29 million – for 2026.
The document states that the current condition of the community’s road management remains problematic. The total length of the Kherson community’s road network is 818 kilometers, of which only 434 kilometers have asphalt concrete pavement.
The program provides a set of measures aimed at improving the transport-operational condition of roads, bridges and road infrastructure, as well as increasing road traffic safety. In particular, it concerns the equipping of roads with modern technical traffic management devices, applying road markings, installing signs and informational indicators, as well as continuous monitoring of accident rates to identify dangerous sections.
Special attention is planned to be paid to rapid response to changes in weather conditions, emergencies and the condition of road surfaces, as well as the maintenance and repair of traffic light facilities.
It is expected that the program’s implementation will improve the condition of roads and road infrastructure, reduce the number of road traffic accidents, improve connections with the community’s rural settlements and increase the efficiency of budget spending. In addition, the MVA forecasts the creation of additional jobs in the road and related industries and a reduction of the negative impact of transport on the environment.
