Kherson Oblast is among the regions with the smallest number of pensioners in Ukraine. Currently about 202 thousand pensioners are registered here — one of the lowest figures in the country.

Approximately the same statistics are held by Chernivtsi Oblast, where 203 thousand pensioners are registered.
Overall, this year Ukraine has more than 10.1 million pensioners and almost 73% of them receive old-age pensions.
According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the average pension currently amounts to 6,544 UAH. Over the year the payment increased by 13%. Every fifth Ukrainian pensioner receives, on average, about 4,500 UAH in pension. 63 thousand pensioners receive payments below the subsistence minimum, and 261 thousand are at the level — 2,361 UAH.
