In January 2026, Kherson Oblast ranked sixth in Ukraine among regions with the lowest level of average wages. The average salary in the oblast amounted to 22,336 hryvnias.
The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine reported this.
Lower figures than in Kherson were recorded in Chernivtsi Oblast — 19,984 hryvnias, Kirovohrad Oblast — 19,996 hryvnias, Ternopil Oblast — 20,435 hryvnias, Chernihiv Oblast — 21,882 hryvnias, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast — 22,190 hryvnias.

The highest level of average wages in January 2026 was recorded in Kyiv — 43,865 hryvnias.
Overall, the average salary in Ukraine in January 2026 amounted to 27,975 hryvnias. The statistics were published excluding temporarily occupied territories — Crimea, Sevastopol, and parts of Donbas.
Recall that in December statistics appeared showing that the average wage in Kherson based on an analysis of vacancies over the past three months is 21,000 hryvnias. This was 8% higher than in February last year, but the city remains among the outsiders in terms of pay levels among Ukraine’s regional centers.
