Kherson region will receive part of a batch of 300 generators that Ukraine received as part of support from the Southeast European Cooperation Initiative (SECI).
This was reported by the Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksiy Kuleba.
The equipment is intended to provide backup power in regions affected by Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
The total capacity of the delivered generators is 1.6 MW, and their value exceeds €417,000. The equipment is already being distributed to the regions that most need alternative power sources.
In addition to the Kherson region, the generators will also be delivered to Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, Mykolaiv and Lviv. Priority is given to social infrastructure facilities, including hospitals, maternity hospitals, schools and kindergartens.
“Enemy attacks on energy and communal infrastructure remain systematic. Our response to the Russian Federation’s barbaric actions is distributed generation and backup solutions that allow communities to work, treat, educate and provide basic services even in crisis conditions”, – Kuleba said.
Earlier it was reported that the French metropolis of Nantes transferred three electric generators to the Kherson water utility to strengthen the community’s critical infrastructure.
