Law enforcement officers have announced charges against a resident of Kherson who helped the occupiers hold a pseudo-referendum.
This was reported on the website of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, in September 2022 the woman joined a so‑called mobile group of one of the illegally established precinct election commissions and took part in organizing and conducting a pseudo-referendum on the annexation of the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region to the Russian Federation.
In particular, in the territory of the Korabelnyi district of Kherson, together with other participants she arranged a tent bearing the symbols of the Russian Federation and portable ballot boxes, urged local residents to support “annexation” to Russia, issued ballots and kept a record of the people who took part in the so‑called vote.
The woman is currently in custody. She is accused of committing a crime under part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – collaborationist activity.
Recall that, in total since the beginning of the war, more than 2.6 thousand crimes against national security have been recorded in the Kherson region.
