Kherson City Court has handed down a verdict to Kherson resident Iryna Nechay, who during the occupation of the city took a job at the seized city council.
The verdict was published on the website of the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
As the investigation established and the court confirmed, in the summer of 2022 she received from the occupying authorities the position of specialist in the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Kherson City Council, which at that time was under the control of Russian forces.
In this position she received citizens and arranged payments to low-income individuals in the amount of 10,000 Russian rubles.
After the de-occupation of Kherson, Iryna Nechay was detained by Ukrainian law enforcement officers, and in March of this year she reached a plea agreement with the prosecutor.
Thus, the court approved the agreement and found Iryna Nechay guilty of collaborationist activity (Part 2 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). She was sentenced to deprivation of the right to hold positions in state authorities for a term of 10 years without confiscation of property.
Earlier it was reported that for distributing propaganda newspapers a resident of Chornobaivka received three years in prison, but he was released from punishment.
