Kherson may become one of the cities where AI-interceptors will be deployed — drones with artificial intelligence that are meant to destroy Russian strike unmanned aerial vehicles while still approaching the borders and the front line.
This was stated on Radio NV by people’s deputy and member of the Verkhovna Rada’s defense committee Roman Kostenko, writes Informator.
According to him, the main task for this year is to ensure that Russian Shahed drones do not reach the residential districts of Kherson, Odesa, Dnipro or Kyiv, but are neutralized a few kilometers after crossing the border or the line of contact.
Using unmanned interceptor drones instead of expensive air defense missiles will allow the creation of a dense protective barrier.
The technological solution that the team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation is working on aims to effectively eliminate the threat of mass drone attacks as a phenomenon, minimizing risks to the city’s civilian infrastructure.
Recall that, according to the latest data, on average across the settlements of the Kherson community Russian forces launch over 1,000 drones per week.
