The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine allocated UAH 6.8 million in basic science funding to Kherson State University for 2026.
This was reported by the rector of Kherson State University, Oleksandr Spivakovskyi.
The funds were allocated based on the results of the state attestation.
“We are beginning to implement the initiative at the department level, since the funding is aimed at supporting research teams, developing research infrastructure, and implementing new scientific projects”, – he wrote.
Overall, the state allocated over UAH 3 billion to support 246 scientific institutions in Ukraine in 2026.
According to the new rules of the Ministry of Education and Science (MES), the funding has a specific purpose – it is for allowances for researchers, equipment purchases, and institutional support for the university.
At the end of February 2026, Kherson State University officially approved a new faculty structure. From July 1, 2026 instead of eight faculties the university will operate five consolidated educational hubs.
