In December 2025, fighters of the unit “Bratstvo”, which is part of the “Timur Special Unit” of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, carried out a successful special operation on the Zaporizhzhia direction in the area of the Kakhovka Reservoir.
This was reported by the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Thus, a sabotage-reconnaissance group conducted a deep raid into the rear of Russian forces. During the combat sortie, Ukrainian scouts killed two occupiers, wounded two others, and took them prisoner.
After that, the unit’s fighters escorted the prisoners for about 27 kilometers and brought them into territory controlled by Ukraine.
According to the GUR, the prisoners provided valuable intelligence on the locations of enemy officers, artillery positions, drone operators, areas of concentration of personnel, equipment, and ammunition depots.
“The operation confirmed the existence of serious gaps in the enemy’s frontline defense system: the enemy does not expect active actions by Ukrainian reconnaissance deep within its positions and cannot mount effective resistance in the rear”, – the intelligence service noted.
After the operation, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, honored the fighters and commanders of the “Bratstvo” unit with state and departmental awards.
