The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Matthias Schmale, reacted to a Russian UAV attack on a World Food Programme humanitarian aid distribution point in the Kherson region.
This was reported on Telegram by Suspilne.
According to him, the aid was to be delivered by the organization ADRA Ukraine. As a result of the Russian strike, one man was killed and two people were injured.
“I am outraged. Civilians and civilian infrastructure, including locations where humanitarian aid is distributed, are protected by the rules of international humanitarian law”, — wrote the Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine.
The post states that humanitarian workers provided first medical aid to the injured. The people are currently in hospital.
He also noted that humanitarian assistance is life‑saving for vulnerable people, especially for those who remain near the front line.
Earlier the head of the regional military administration, Prokudin, reported that Russian occupiers attacked a humanitarian aid distribution point in one of the settlements of the Darivska community in the Kherson region with at least three drones. One man was killed, two people were injured.
