The court handed down a sentence to the so-called head of the council of deputies of the occupation administration in Hornostaivka, Oleh Lyakhov. He was found guilty of collaborationist activity and denying the occupation of Ukrainian territory.
This is stated in the verdict of the Novovorontsovskyi District Court.
As the investigation established, in September 2023 at the illegal elections Lyakhov was elected a so-called deputy of the “United Russia” party, and later — head of the occupation council of deputies in the settlement of Hornostaivka in Kakhovka district.
In this position he performed organizational and managerial functions, held public events, and cooperated with representatives of the occupation leadership.
In September and November 2023 Lyakhov recorded and disseminated on the occupation administration’s Telegram channel video messages with greetings for the so-called Reunification Day and National Unity Day, in which he justified and denied the occupation of the Kherson region.
Having examined the evidence, the court found Oleh Lyakhov guilty under part 6 of Article 111-1, part 3 of Article 436-2, part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to 11 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all property.
It should be noted that in 2024 Oleh Lyakhov was prematurely deprived of his deputy powers.
