21-year-old figure skater from Kherson Kyrylo Marsak finished his performances at the Winter Olympic Games, taking 19th place in the men’s singles.
This was reported on the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine’s Facebook.
In the free skate the skater scored 137.28 points. His combined total from both programs was 224.17 points. This allowed Marsak to record Ukraine’s best result in men’s singles in the past 24 years.
Recall, the day before the athlete presented the short program, for which he received 86.89 points — more than 10 points higher than his previous personal best. Thanks to this, he qualified early for the free skate.
For the Kherson native, these Games were the first of his career.
Kyrylo Marsak is a three-time Ukrainian champion, Ukrainian junior champion, and a competitor at the European and World Championships. He also became the first Ukrainian in the 21st century to land a quadruple Lutz in international competition.
