The Kherson City Court found Vitalii Pospielov guilty of voluntarily holding a position in an illegal Russian law enforcement body on the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region. The sentence was handed down on December 1, 2025 — 15 years imprisonment with confiscation of property.
This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, in September 2022 Pospielov became the deputy head of the illegal “EMERCOM of Russia for Kherson Oblast”. He led a unit, acted according to the laws and protocols of the aggressor country, and supported the occupation authorities.
The court considered the case under a special procedure because Pospielov evaded the investigation. Evidence included documents of the occupation administration, photographic confirmations, testimonies of colleagues, and data from the internet.
In addition to 15 years in prison, his 78.1 m² apartment and a FORD TRANSIT vehicle will be confiscated. The defendant was also stripped of the special rank of “Major of the Civil Protection Service”.
Recall, the Kherson City Court delivered a verdict against the director of the lyceum in Bilozerka, Natalia Pankova, who agreed to cooperate with the occupation authorities.
