Investigators of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office have announced suspicion against former employee of the Kalanchak settlement council Vitalii Danko, who switched to the side of the Russian Federation and took up a position in the occupying law enforcement agency.
This is stated on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
As the investigation established, in September 2022 Danko voluntarily took a position in an illegal law enforcement body created by the occupying administration of the Russian Federation. He became deputy head of the department – head of a unit of the Kalanchak district department of the occupation administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Vitalii Danko is suspected under part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – collaborationist activity. The investigation is ongoing.
According to the NACP register, before the full-scale invasion Danko lived in Kalanchak and worked as a specialist in the land relations and spatial planning department of the executive committee of the Kalanchak settlement council.
In 2015 he ran for the Kherson Regional Council from the Union ‘Samopomich’ party, and in 2020 – for the Kalanchak settlement council from the pro-Russian party ‘Our Land’.
