During the first nine months of 2025 the Kherson region reduced the volume of foreign trade. Goods exports fell by 15%, and imports – by almost a third.
This was reported by the publication Intent citing data from the Main Department of Statistics in the Kherson region.
Thus, from January to September enterprises of the region exported goods worth $13.3 million, while imports amounted to $26.7 million. As a result the region maintains a significant foreign trade balance deficit – over $13 million.
It is noted that more than half of all shipments abroad were products of plant origin. The largest share was formed by cereals – 43% of the total export volume. Exports of oilseeds and fruits of oil-bearing crops also remained significant.
Sales of canned goods, frozen and sliced vegetables and fruits, sauces and other products also increased by 84% compared with last year.
In addition, the region continued to export non-precious metals, textile products and weapons.
Among the key markets for the Kherson region remain Spain, Lithuania, Moldova, Romania and Turkey. Shipments to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Austria also increased.
The main supplier countries of imported goods were China, Germany, Turkey, Vietnam and the United States.
The region has the largest trade deficit in its relations with China, Vietnam, as well as Germany and the United States.
