The Rivne City Court has handed down a verdict against former Ukrainian law enforcement officer Anatoliy Muravlyov, who worked for the occupying authorities in Crimea and in Kherson region.
This is stated in the court ruling.
According to the investigation, Muravlyov began working for the Russians during the occupation of Crimea. For several years he headed police stations in Krasnoperekopsk and Armyansk.
Acquaintances of the convicted man recall that he sincerely supported “the new authorities”, flaunted his Russian passport and new ranks in the pseudo-police.
In 2023 Muravlyov headed the so-called transport police in the temporarily occupied Henichesk. His unit was set up in the building of a former private boarding house in the village of Henicheska Hirka. There he still continues to help the occupiers control the occupied region.
The court in absentia found Anatoliy Muravlyov guilty of state treason and voluntarily taking a position in an illegal law enforcement body.
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
