The Kherson City Court found former head of the Office of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights of the occupation administration of Kherson Oblast, Iryna Kravchenko, guilty of collaborationist activities.
This was announced in the court’s verdict.
The court determined that in March 2023 Kravchenko voluntarily agreed to assume the position of the so-called secretary of the «Election Commission of Kherson Oblast», created by the Russian occupying authorities in the temporarily occupied territory of the region.
According to the case materials, in that position she carried out organizational and managerial as well as administrative and economic functions, coordinated the work of the apparatus of the illegal election commission, organized the preparation of its meetings, and signed resolutions and other documents.
The court also concluded that Kravchenko participated in organizing and conducting the illegal elections of deputies of the so-called «Kherson Regional Duma of the first convocation» and representative bodies of municipal entities, which the Russian occupying authorities held in the seized part of Kherson Oblast in September 2023.
In particular, she organized the collection of documents from candidates and Russian political parties, participated in the meetings of the illegal election commission and signed resolutions that approved the results of the pseudo-elections.
The court qualified her actions under part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine as voluntarily assuming a position in an illegal authority created on a temporarily occupied territory, as well as participation in organizing and conducting illegal elections.
Iryna Kravchenko was sentenced to nine years of imprisonment. In addition, she was banned for 15 years from holding positions in state authorities, local self-government bodies, and from engaging in activities related to the electoral process.
The court also recovered from the convicted person more than UAH 2.2 thousand in procedural costs for conducting an examination.
Recall, in May 2026 the government of the United Kingdom added to the sanctions list the head of the Office of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights of temporarily occupied Kherson Oblast and Iryna Kravchenko.
Note that in October 2024 she headed the illegal apparatus of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in occupied Kherson region.
In 2023 Kravchenko took part in the pseudo-elections and was secretary of the illegal election commission.
Before the full-scale invasion she was head of the veterinary laboratory in Skadovsk and was involved in retail furniture trade.
According to the media, Kravchenko is a protégé of Vitaliy Bulyuk. In the past she worked in the customs service, where the traitor Bulyuk built his career and fortune.
Additionally, in Ukraine Kravchenko is charged with crimes against the foundations of national security.
