Kherson resident Oleksiy Dzigunskyi, who held a leadership position in the occupying pseudo-ministry, received a sentence in absentia.
The Security Service of Ukraine’s Kherson regional office reported this on social media.
The investigation proved that during the occupation of Kherson he worked in the so-called Department of Agro-Industrial Complex of the Kherson Region, where he headed the State Oversight Inspection.
Later, after the occupiers reorganized the department into the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Kherson Region, he continued to work in the same position within the structure of the pseudo-ministry.
He ensured the implementation of the orders of the occupying authorities, thereby facilitating the integration of the region’s agricultural sector into Russia’s economic system, the post says.
According to the SBU, after the de-occupation of the Right Bank of the Kherson region, Dzigunskyi, together with other representatives of the pseudo-ministry, fled to temporarily occupied Henichesk.
Dzigunskyi was found guilty in absentia of collaborationist activity under part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
