The court found Major Hanna Tropina guilty, who during the occupation of Kherson sided with the enemy and cooperated with the occupation administration of the Russian Federation.
This is stated in the court’s verdict.
As the court found, Tropina, while serving as head of the personnel department of Darivska Correctional Colony No. 10, voluntarily agreed in May-June 2022 to cooperate with the occupation authorities.
In particular, she took a position in the illegal administration of the penal enforcement service for Kherson Oblast, which was later integrated into the system of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation.
Tropina also participated in forming the structure of this body, preparing regulatory documents and recruiting personnel.
In addition, the court established that the accused drafted plans for organizing the work of the illegal law enforcement body and facilitated its functioning in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.
Her actions were qualified under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason) and part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborationist activity).
The court, in absentia, sentenced her to 15 years of imprisonment with disqualification from holding positions in state authorities for 15 years and with confiscation of all property.
Recall, the Primorsky District Court of Odesa sentenced Major Serhiy Kolba to 9 years in prison, who voluntarily headed an illegal law enforcement body in the temporarily occupied territory of Beryslav district of Kherson Oblast.
