The former head of the Kherson Regional State Administration Mykola Kostyak has been entered into the search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The relevant information is posted on the agency’s website.
The date of Kostyak’s disappearance is considered to be January 12, 2026.
Recall, in 2022 Mykola Kostyak was accused of state treason.
According to the investigation, he began cooperating with the Russian Federation from the first days of the full-scale invasion. In particular, he organized the transfer of fuel, lubricants, and construction materials for the needs of Russian servicemen to support combat operations and form defensive positions on the territory of Kherson Oblast.
Mykola Kostyak from 2004 to 2010 worked as the first deputy head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.
In June 2010 he became the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.
A significant argument for his appointment at the time was cited as his prior experience and personal acquaintance with former President Viktor Yanukovych.
In 2010 he was elected as a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council from “Party of Regions”.
Kostyak submitted a resignation statement from the post of head of the Kherson Regional State Administration on February 24, 2014, at the demand of self-defense forces and Maidan activists. After that, the General Prosecutor’s Office examined the legality of Kostyak’s activities while serving as governor of the region.
From 2014 to 2019 he worked as an assistant to People’s Deputy Oleksandr Vilkul, ran for parliament, and worked as an assistant to Ihor Kolykhaiev when the latter was a People’s Deputy.
