Investigators of the National Police in the Kherson region have announced suspicion against a resident of Henichesk district, Natalia Cherevko, who headed the occupation administration of a village on the left bank of the Kherson region.
This is reported on the website of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, in April 2024 Cherevko took the position of the so-called head of the village of Vilne in the Nyzhniosirohozy community.
In addition, she took part in the filming of a propaganda video that was published on the Telegram channel of the occupation administration.
In the video Cherevko denies the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine and thanks the Russian party “United Russia” for humanitarian aid, the suspicion states.
For this, Natalia Cherevko is suspected under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: parts 1, 5, 6 of Article 111-1 of the CC of Ukraine (collaborationist activity) and part 1 of Article 436-2 of the CC of Ukraine (justification of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine).
Note that, according to CJR, Natalia Cherevko is a displaced person from Belarus who came to the Kherson region after the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
In the Nyzhniosirohozy community she headed the House of Culture for many years.
According to locals, Cherevko ran several times for the position of village head of Vilne, but each time unsuccessfully. In recent years she was involved in organizing performances by local carolers in the community.
Earlier it was reported that another resident of the Kherson region was notified of suspicion for participation in the occupiers’ illegal council.
