The Uzhhorod City District Court of Zakarpattia Oblast handed down a verdict to former deputy of the Novotroitske District Council Viktor Yasynskyi, who went to work for the occupiers in Kherson.
This became known from the court’s verdict.
According to the court, in June 2022 Yasynskyi voluntarily took a job at Correctional Colony No. 90 in Kherson, which at that time was under the control of Russian military forces.
He was appointed to the position of junior inspector. His duties included oversight of the prisoners and ensuring compliance with the regime, that is, he helped the occupation law enforcement system control the captured colony.
On the eve of the de-occupation of the right-bank area of the Kherson region, he fled with the occupation administration to the city of Henichesk on the left bank of the region, where he continued to work for the Russians.
The court found Viktor Yasynskyi guilty under Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborationist activity). He was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
It is known that before the full-scale invasion Yasynskyi worked as a security guard at one of the private firms in Novotroitske.
In 2010 and 2015 he was elected a deputy of the Novotroitske District Council — from the “Party of Regions” and the “Party of Local Self-Government”, respectively.
