Former deputy of the Kherson Regional Council from “Servant of the People” Yurii Kovalov is transporting aid to Russian occupiers.
This was reported by occupation sources.
In particular, Kovalov handed over a diesel generator to the servicemen of the 28th motorized rifle regiment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, who occupied the left bank of Kherson Oblast.
Yurii Kovalov – the brother of the eliminated MP from “Servant of the People” Oleksii Kovalov, who at the start of the full-scale invasion actively helped the Russians occupy Kherson Oblast and even became one of the ministers of the occupation government.
Yurii Kovalov also cooperated with the Russians and in 2023 was elected to the illegal Kherson Regional Duma from “United Russia”. Currently, an investigation is ongoing against him under part 2 of article 111 (state treason committed under martial law) and part 5 of article 111-1 (collaboration activity).
Last year the Kherson Regional Territorial Election Commission prematurely terminated his deputy powers.
